“Gremlins” is directed by Joe Dante and stars Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Hollidayand Frances Lee McCain. The story follows a young man who receives a strange creature as a pet, which then spawns other creatures who transform into small, destructive, aggressive monsters that all wreak havoc on a whole town on Christmas Eve. “Gremlins” was released in 1984 and was a critical and commercial smash and one of the biggest box office hits of that year. A sequel, “Gremlins 2: The New Batch” followed in 1990.
